This week on Thursday Thirteen: I’m going to share to you the best movies I have seen online, on TV and in the theater and what my thoughts about these movies.

Here they are:
1.Freedom Writers (2007) - this is a movie we watched at one of my class. A based on true story which is excellent for all ages and real plus for the teenager. Showed anyone how and where you can make a difference in this world. Money is not important for what you do and influence others in your time. Cannot say enough good things.
2. Avatar (2009) - There is no doubt this movie is visually stunning. A beautiful, immersive world - in fact its the world of Pandora that makes the film. In the end, it's all there is to it. Everybody in that theater knew that what they had just witnessed was going to go down in history, and just a few weeks later, Avatar became the highest grossing movie of all time.
3. Couples Retreat (2009) - Fun movie with a dose of marriage reality. Not laugh out loud funny, but definitely has its moments. Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau are great. Kristin Davis and Kristen Bell are very good. If you are married, something will hit home.
4. Zombieland (2009) - Great for the under-twenty crowd. I had hoped to see some quirky humor to balance out the carnage, but just about every funny moment can be viewed on the trailer. Woody Harrelson, however, is worth watching.
5. Twilight (2008) - I love the movie but I am more thrilled when reading the book. The book was so much better, but it is understandable though, if they follow what's on the book it would probably takes couple hours before the movie is done. In overall, the movie is great but the book is excellent.
6. The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) - I have seen the movie in a theater with my husband and I find it very great, but this time, I find this movie excellent. It actually followed along with the book and that is what made it so awesome.
7.Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) - I like Isla Fisher but this movie was painful, it destroyed the book. If they had kept true to the Shopaholic books this would be a fabulous and entertaining movie.
8. Orphan (2009) - That film induced psychological terror as this film falls into the genre of a "horror thriller" with lots of graphic violence. Spine-chilling good fun and certainly a film I recommend seeing after the kids go bed. They may get ideas.
9. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2009) - Even though I was totally disgusted with the main character at the beginning of the movie, the end was absolutely amazing. I adore Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol, and I don't think this was disgrace at all to his masterpiece. I think it was rather entertaining, and I loved it.
10. Up (2009) - This is a very sweet and witty movie. I think it could appeal to many ages. In fact I'm sorry that my kids are grown. This would have been a great movie to share with them. That said, as an adult viewer, it dragged a bit here and there but always picked up with humor and wit. I thought the first 15 minutes or so were an amazing depiction of a relationship. Truly beautiful.
11. The Last House on the Left (2009)- A surprisingly good horror film that really impressed me with it's realistic script, down and dirty cinematography, and pretty good acting. However, the closing scene, neither necessary nor consistent with the rest of the movie, is a major flaw.
12.Obsessed (2009)- My husband and I watched this together and we were both cheering on Derek and Sharon; one Derek was staying true to his wife and Sharon for kicking her butt for overstepping. This shows that just because a beautiful woman comes to a man; the man ALWAYS has the right to say NO.
13. Bride Wars (2009)- This is a great Chic flix. Many best friends just get carried away on the things they do. I thought it was great. My daughter of 28 watched it together even though she had seen it before. We both agree one friend went just a little two far. But best friends prevail - nice message.
