Got A Curling Iron

>> Monday, June 30, 2008

My mother and sister in law came visit with us last Saturday night. And it happened that my dearly sister is with us to spent the night. And so, it ended up that my sister was having a new haircut and so as my mother in law since my sister in law was a good hairstylist. So, that's all about hair. And my hubby was just around playing with my son while drinking his cup of coffee. While doing so, my mother in law, asked me if I wanted a curling iron. It was so ironic since I was thinking of the same thing, I really wanted to buy my own curling iron. So I'm glad I don't need to buy a new one now. Well, God is good all the time.

Even though, I don't know how to curl my hair, but we can find some tips right online. What's the use of the Internet! :) Well, I don't even know how to use a flat iron, but from refrain of using it, I finally did it perfectly. So, even more with curling iron.

Step1
When you use a curling iron, the most important thing to remember is your hair must be dry. Using your curling iron on wet hair will result in fried-limp hair. If you’re worried about burning your hair even slightly, there are thermal protection products that can help prevent burnt hair.
Step2
If you have short hair, the best way to curl hair is to start at the crown. If you have medium to long hair, it’s better to start at the back of the head.
Step3
To begin, separate hair into 1” to 2” sections and start from the tip of the hair and roll the iron until it is about an inch from the scalp. If you’re worried about burning yourself, slide a comb in between the curling iron and your scalp.
Step4
Hold the iron in the hair for about 10 seconds and then carefully open the curling iron and release the curl. Continue to repeat this for the remaining sections of hair that you wish to curl. If you’re hair is long, you may want to pin the curl with a bobby pin against the head before doing the rest of your hair.
Step5
Once the curls have cooled, you can use a holding spray to set the look and then unpin and style the curls using your fingers.

So, excited to curl my hair soon...:)
